There are over 3 million children in the United States who have been affected by a parent's cancer, tens of thousands of whom live in the Chicago metro area. The support is there for grown-ups, but the special emotional needs of children of adult cancer patients have been overlooked. Simply put: kids are often left to deal with these personal tragedies on their own; and if parents themselves are struggling with illness, their sons and daughters frequently miss the simple joys of childhood. Camp Kesem empowers college student leaders nationwide to create free, life-changing summer camps where kids can be kids.

Camp Kesem Northwestern was founded in 2003 and held its first session of camp in 2005. This is our 10th anniversary of camp, and we are excited to announce we will be growing to host two camp sessions this summer! We plan everything from travel and housing, to activities and entertainment, and the focus is all about the kids. This year our total fundraising goal is $75,000, most of which will come from individual donations and through this page. Your donations go directly to support our camp including travel, housing, activities and meals for the children and our counselors. Please help us make this year's trip a reality.
