There are over 3 million kids affected by a parent's cancer in the United States alone. Because they don't appear sick, their needs are often not addressed-- they suffer quietly, which can have long-lasting effects.

Camp Kesem Central PA provides these kids with a supportive, lifelong camp community that recognizes and understand their unique needs. The one-week sleep away camps are a chance for children aged 6 to 16 to have fun and just be kids. Everything we do at Camp Kesem Central PA focuses on our goal of giving campers the best week of their lives while also providing the extra support and attention the need. For Fifty-one weeks a year, the children of cancer patients watch their loved ones suffer, but for one week during the summer, these kids are free from worry and welcomed by peers of similar circumstance.

Camp Kesem Central PA aims to provide this amazing oppurtunity to 50 deserving children in the Central Pennsylvania region next year with 30 enthusiastic student volunteer counselors from Penn State, giving us a unique 2:1 camper to counselor ratio. It is this industry leading ratio that allows us to give each camper the individual attention they need, while also creating lasting bongs between both counselors and campers.

We hope that you join us in helping our Kesem family grow even more in our second year!

Kesem (n.): magic; the ability to change a life; an agent of growth; the unique power that transforms kids into Camp Kesem Family
