When a parent is diagnosed with cancer, the whole family is affected. For children, the carefree joy and adventure of childhood are often replaced with new responsibilities, anger, guilt and the fear of losing a parent. Camp Kesem Berkeley was founded in 2006 to provide a safe, supportive, and fun summer camp experience to local children whose parents have died from cancer, are in treatment for cancer, or are in remission from cancer.

Camp Kesem is a growing national movement, transforming more lives each year. Since 2001, Camp Kesem has grown from a single camp, to 62 active chapters. Camp Kesem Berkeley is one of the largest Kesem chapters nationwide, and was the first chapter to host two weeks of camp! Learn more about our chapter at http://campkesem.org/berkeley
