Each summer, Camp Kesem looks to embrace the often overlooked population of kids whose parents have cancer. By providing a week long summer camp that is completely free of charge for the families, we look to provide a camp filled with fun, new experiences, and support.
Camp Kesem at the University of Virginia was founded in 2005 by three UVA and UNC students. The intial camp had only 15 campers and 7 counselors. Since its founding, the camp has exploded with growth. We've had to move sites multiple times just to accomodate our growth. One of the largest Camp Kesem chapters in Virginia, we plan on serving 90 campers with 40 counselors in the summer of 2014.
We hope that you will help us make this summer magical.
